About me

I’m a public relations professional in beautiful Miami, Florida.  A Florida native, I received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Davidson College,  and did some coursework in Paris, France.  Once upon a time, I served as head wardrobe technician for a performance theater, working residencies with organizations like the Royal Shakespeare Company. Today, my role in the public relations industry offers endless opportunities to engage in my key strengths: critical analysis, research, writing, crafting arguments, framing stories, forming relationships, broadening networks, maintaining connections, and above all, learning on a daily basis to keep up with the rapidly-changing communications industry.

Besides serving as immediate past president of the South Florida chapter of the Association for Women in Communications (a professional association which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2009), I’m active in a number of industry and community groups in Miami, including Social Media for Social Change, Social Media Club of South Florida, and the University of Miami Friends of Philosophy.

I like to think of myself as a woman of diverse talents. I’m a heck of a cook, I can sew, and I can use a bewildering variety of power tools and fix my bathtub faucet. Other major interests include my clingy little cat, throwing epic dinner parties, photography, dancing, sewing, crafting, reading, traveling, crosswords, Rummikub, talking to strangers, good whiskey, decent cigars, and losing myself in thought.

You can find me on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Flickr; drop me a line and say hello!

We have a lot of interests in common. I was born in Belgium, studies international affairs at Columbia University and am now a full time colorful abstract painter. I also sing in a chorus, used to sew my own clothing and have travelled to Spain, Morocco, Turkey, and Mexico. All these are reflected in my paintings. I live in New York City, however. and would love to hear your talk on marketing, PR On Feb. 25th at the Life is Happenings meeting. I sent James an e-mail to that effect and am hoping that somehow I could get a transcript, CD or copy of your presentation as I am going to exhibit at the Architectural Digest Home Furnishings Show in March.
    Look forward to your reply,
